Needs some work

This has a lot of potential, but definitely needs some work done to it.

Well you seem to have some good drum patterns in there, but the samples weren't anything special. There seemed to be some odd velocity changes in there as well.

The melody is good, kind of evil lair sound maybe? But an "ew" sounding synth. The bass was fine, but could use a bit of amping... not too much >8(

I think there should be some kind of counter melody or harmony work in there. It will add a lot more depth to the sound of the song.

Fix up the mastering, extend and you could have a good song here.

DSMagnum responds:

I would go back and do more, but after listening to Redse7en's original version of this, there is no way I could make this near as good as that.

The drums were just w/e. There were some velocity changes. I thought they sounded cool.

I felt that the synth sounded fine. Maybe I should've worked on it more.

I actually turned down the bass a little because it was overpowering the lead and other parts.

Thanks for the review! I'll keep what you said in mind for my next song/remix.

Hello Tome, I see you got a new Eno style track. I really like your soundscape style. Very peaceful, and chilled.

Great sound coming from those pads. Simple and really effective. Stone in Focus style if you know what I mean.

I'm definitely putting this one on my ambient playlist. Great stuff man

Tome89 responds:

Eno style :D that's nice
I never heard more than Music for Airports though

I find it somewhat similar to Lichen by Aphex Twin :)

Reviewing made me happi :3
Thanks SineRider!

sucks

really sucks <3 5d

DSMagnum responds:

You just don't like Gabber. :P

Yeah, I wasn't too serious with this. I'm rarely ever serious with anything I submit to NG unless it's a remix. :D

lol <3

I like my version better. But thats just me.

The drums made me turn down my speakers lol. There godo sampels but I didn't like the hi-hats.

Make your own melody next time if ya don't like it >8(

-SineRider

DSMagnum responds:

I didn't like the melody at first because I had a crap synth playing it. Also, I had it up tempo quite a bit, so it mashed the melody together a tad. I tried. :P

acidy

Goddamn mass downloaders, I can see how irritating that could be.

Hmm acid, I see. Very pounding and rough song. That is some harsh bass in there. Good drums and instrumentation.

Don't have much to say about it, good stuff.

dj-padman1 responds:

thanks.

Great stuff

Wow, your last two pieces really show how much you have improved since last time I reviewed your stuff.

I really could see you as a movie or game soundtrack artist. Very professional sound. The atmosphere set by the low ambient pad, and the eerie strings sent shivers down my spine.

The low percussion with a lot of reverb was pretty cool. I feel like I'm in a big container being pushed around.

Great stuff man =)

-SineRider

maybe you could hit me back, I'm a bit low on reviews ya know =)

TheAmateurAnimator responds:

Thanks. I'm a big fan of reverbing, delaying, phasering, and flanging stuff...probably relates to my love of Halo and Metal Gear Solid music.

I like it

This definitely has kind of a before battle type theme.

It starts of kind of slow, with an rhythmic tapping and violin melody. It evolves to some nice snare and percussion work, and other supporting instruments. The melody change from instrument to instrument was good and mixed it up a bit.

I'm not sure why, but this sounds very familiar. The low beginning and fade off at the end, sounds rather familiar.

Great work man =)

Rucklo responds:

Sounds familiar? thats cool. I guess :O It is 100% my doing though... Glad ya liked the song and thanx for the feedback :)

omg

omg you loser, you didnt make this. This is Pink Floyd >:(

heehee

Well, I've always liked pink floyd. They have an interesting sound that always intrigues me. Odd that I have never heard this song before.

From the sounds of it, seems like its well recreated. Very relaxing and at the same time uptempo.

good stuff man

Cool

Well, from all the reviews you have given me, I think I should return some reviews to you. Here is the first one.

Nice lo-fi song. Interesting sound though. It did sort of remind me of some kind of flight over earth or something.

It had an old electronic sound to it, with the shifting synth lead. Good drum work.

I think it could be mastered a bit better. A lot of low frequencies, and not as muh high frequences.

Good stuff man

Thanks for the review!

I dig it

This is a pretty cool song man. I'm digging those low bass tones. A bit of a genre mixer eh?

The drums were pretty good. The pattern was pretty good, but really kind of got repetitive. The bass was all good. Pretty simple but works. The piano was an interesting choice to add in. It gave it a lot of character and make it stand out from other similar dnb pieces.

Although the song seems to be rather empty. Just bass and drums. No sort of pad, or leads, except a piano, which was overshadowed by the bass.

I think you should take out the vox parts too. They are kind of annoying.

Well good stuff anyway man. Keep up the good work.
