Crunchy and sweet

Hm, the beginning of this song really reminds me of the music I used to make 3-4 years ago when I started making tunes. I really enjoyed the pad you had going. Lately I've been into that distorted sort of ambient music.

The ending sort of surprised me. The drums had me thinking Nine Inch Nails. The arp synth going on was really cool too. Some real nice ideas going on here.

Keep worknig at it man, and experiment with what you can :)

Awesome

Wow this is some really atmospheric stuff. The tempo is all over the place. I really dig that. Some of those effects sound awesome. I really like the reverse arpeggios. The way you used the reverb is crazy. Great work :)

Nice nice

Sorry I didn't get around to reviewing this until now.I listened to it last week when you PMed me. I really really like it. The glitching is really intense. It sounds great and very unique. The pads are really nice too. I really dig the one at about 1:00. It's really vast and epic sounding.

I always liked 5/4. I tend to write really wacky stuff in it, but you managed to make some really emotional and beautiful music in it. My only gripe with this is in the mixing. Everything melts together unnaturally, although don't take my word for it. I'm shit at mixing myself. Great work dude :)

SessileNomad responds:

yeah i didnt spent a huge deal of time with the mixing on this one, so i agree with that

5/4 blows and i hate it xD

glad you liked it dude, w/o you i never would have been inspired to make a crunchy ambient tune, so yeah, thanks for that

later dude. peace out

Cheesy goodness

This is really sweet man. I'm loving that bass tone and groove. It's excellent
Please tell me that is a real bass though. If not, it's one of the mos realistic synth basses I've ever heard. Loving the little synth solo as well. Watch the bass levels though, sort of overpowers the mix.

Lovely in every sense

Wow that synth is wonderful. Really punchy yet smooth sounding. I'm liking the crunchy beat too. Wonderful glitching as well. The whole swingy feel throughout the song is great. My only gripe is the mix is a bit muddy when more stuff start. Wonderful work. Good to hear your still making great tunes :)

VegetarianMeat responds:

Yeah I love the synth too :P

Glad you liked it :D

Oh boi

I do say, I love this one. I like how the intro sounds like a tape delay. Nice effect :)

VegetarianMeat responds:

Thanks buddeh :D

Gotta love this kind of recording

I always get a kick out of one take recordings. Although I have to admit, it takes me many, many times to get it right.

Anyways, I really like the ideas thrown around in this recording. As simple as you say it is, they're way more complex then what I usually come up with. I don't have any critique on progression and chords, all very nicely done.

If I were a vocalist, or even could write decent lyrics, I think this track would do nicely with some vocals. Also layer some guitars over it or maybe some keyboard. I'd like to hear an evolved version of this song.

Sorry, I kind of suck at reviews :)

loansindi responds:

Thanks for the review. This track coulda used a goodly number of more takes.

This song really begs for vocals. I'm hopin to get a proper version recorded some time and pair up with a vocalist to get some. I've been trying to get this thing written for a long time.

Spambient eh?

I like this genre

Tome89 responds:

Means it took less time to make it than to listen to it lol

Cool

Just finished listening to this. Rather enjoyable tune :)

I liked the arping synth throughout the song. In interesting take on the DnB genre. I have to say you made great use of the amen samples. Typically you hear it used with barely any slicing, but you completely changed it up. Also you have some cool rhythms going on.

I don't have too much criticism to give you, but I think at the time the way the snare released muddied up the mix, just a bit. Oh and try to bring the amen up in the mix, it was tough to hear.

Great work Kaizerwolf, keep it up :)

nightsurfermusic responds:

The amen was sort of meant as a background thing, in addition to the louder drums. I agree with you though, bringing the amen up loader would work well.

Thanks for reviewing! :D
