Lovely

This... is quite good. Nice and relaxing with a bit of a creepy tone.

I think I could imagine this in a movie scene where there standing at a beach at night with the camera panning off.

Nice pads in there and the sound FX go nicely. Well this is very good and I don't have much too say about it.

Thanks for your vote, SineRider! You voted 5 for (Gillenium) Moon Burn, keeping its score at 5.00.

Gillenium responds:

Thanks for the review and the vote! Not many people do both, lol. This one took me a while to iron out. Couldn't really get it the way I wanted, so I chopped a couple minutes off of it, and now it works fine.

Freakin Cool

I've come to return the favor :)

I have to say the beginning was very abstract. A cool sounding pad and a strange melody.

The drums completely surprised me. That was the point where I really started liked the song. The nice drills in there and good pattern too.

I think there is a bit too much reverb on the drums and they get a tad muddy. No bog deal can be fixed easily.

Some suggestions would to be add a better bass in there. Nothing really special, a sine wave would work just fine.

I'm really liking the sound of this one. I'd like to hear it finished :D

thanks for the feedback! I may or may not end up getting around to finishing this one... but I'd really like to, so we'll see...

Cool

Not sure why, But I really liked this one. The melody kind of got me thinking of something Aphex Twin would make.

It was an interesting idea though, but I think some of the execution (more on the drum part) could have been better.

I really liked that piano melody. Do you play? The rest of the orchestration was great as well.

The drum samples seemed to be lacking just a bit. Your using FL right? I'm not entirely sure how the drum programmer works in that program, its been ages since I've used the program. But the drums need EQing and maybe some effects too.

The drum patterns were interesting, but also were very strange at times. I say try and keep a more contained drum pattern.

The ending was really cool though. Had a dramatic sound to it. Alone, without the drumbeat it would have been still really good.

scoutzero responds:

Everything was FL Studio sampled. :)

I'm still learning how to master the samples and the song itself, so maybe I will then improve the quality.

And yes, the drum patterns were not really good in my opinion, but I don't have a lot of high-quality drum samples to use. If you know some good ones that would work on FL, then let me know!

thanks for the criticism and I'm glad you liked it! :)

I love this song. Its soo cool and mysterious

The glitchy beat is great. When it goes along with that melody it makes a really cool effect. The meldoy is pretty damn cool as it is.

Can't say its your best song, but it was fuxin awesome if you ask me ;D

Nice track you got up ped

I like the bass and guitar parts. Good vocals in there too. Nice percussion you got thrown around in there.

cant wait to hear finished version man

-SineRider

snoballandthmonyshot responds:

thats what i'm saying brother, there will be no finished version, you can't pollish a turd, and when you get right down to it, this is pretty much a big smelly turd...
i was gonna go back to the drawing board but i just spent the last hour and a half reviewing to avoid hitting that hut...

Love it

Whoa, this is the song I just listened to on your myspace page. But it was called Portage there? Maybe I'm just going crazy :O

Seriously though, I absolutely love this song. Now I really happy because I can download it.

The guitar harmonics were nice. Cool glitvhy beat. I definitely see why this was played on a radio.

I like the cool, almost retro sounding pad around the end.

Great work on this song dude. 5/5

-SineRider

Glib responds:

Thanks dude. The song is actually called Portage but all of a sudden had this flashback of a song I made called Brochet and absent mindedly submitted it under that title. <3

Wow, you really think this sounds like movie quality? That's quite a compliment! Thank you!!! That's such a compliment, I had to use three exclamation points!!!

Niice

Hey blade, haven't seen you around in awhile.

I love that drumbeat in there. Some nice reverse drums in there. The breaks were good. Nice slicey.

The bassline was pretty cool. The bass tone was good. But it was missing a big oomgh ya know.

My suggestion is too add a subbass underneath the one you got there. It will really make it sound so much better. to get a good subbass just use a low sinewave with a bassy eqing.

The vox were cool and made it sound like something I'd hear off a Dieselboy LP.

bladerunner627 responds:

Thanks :) for the review SineRider. I haven't been active on NGAudio lately, but I do what I can. If you were wondering what that break is called, it's Tramen aka Sniper. It's a variation of the Amen break. I don't remember what vinyl set I got it off though.
