Well you sure outdone yourself in your drums in this song. I like the little intro synthline. Glitchy drums sound wonderful. Compliment the song.

Damn simple guitar part in their, I like it. Vocals remind me bit of mogwai or something. Couldn't tell what you were saying. Maybe you could reply with them?

gotta love the simple sound. Sometimes you just need a bit of simplicity to unwind and relax.

Yo sinerider, haha i have you with the drums this time nice one, thats glicth at its work that is, as im sure you're aware of.
Synths were done in cyrstal, a lot of messing about. Yep guitars simple, sometimes it's more effective, it's what you leave out that matters sometimes, not what you put in. Mogwai vocals wow, those are mancunian mumblings XD i say 'close your eyes, just leave me be'. the reverse reverb may be whats getting people with the vocals.

thnaks very much man, let me know when you have anything up and i'll review again.

Lol none taken. I really didnt expect this to get the attention it has... I made it quite a while ago.

Hmmm

Hello Pitbull, thought I might review this here song. This definitely is an interesting song you got here.

I really love that broken synth sound in the beginning. Sort of off, and mesmerizing.

Some accompaniment comes in, real nice. Is that a distorted violin? It sort of was tough on my ears in a few spots, but still had a interesting sound to it.

My only really big problem with this song is well the drum-work. It was a bit simplistic for my tastes. Also I think you should add some cymbals or hi-hats too.

Overall swell work my good man.

pitbulljones responds:

hey ho sine rider sir. Yea i love that opening synth too, i used crystal for it, morphed a couple of patches and keep morphing til this one emerged, it's just the very first bit of the patch the rest is horrendous but tis very nice innit.

It is a distorted string, the chamber strings setting from Rhino, distorted and filtered with Northpole which is one of my fav plugins for sound mangling.

yea drums aint my forté i tend to do short loops that work but need more variation, it's laziness on my behalf that, i'd much rather a live drummer than working with FL.

Glad you liked the tune tho.

cheers

PM me with any tunes you want reviewing.

Hmmm

That is probably one of the best tutorials I've ever heard. I am now going to be like the best DnB artist on here. Even better then Dimrain47!

Thanks and much love from the one who rides sines <3

StereoTactik responds:

thanks! do you think i should also make a song arrangment tutorial?

Needs work hunger

This remix needs improving

Change the bass so the EQ is like 10 fold over the lesser known prime numbers.

Make sure to factor that main synth using the FOIL method.

Also the drums need to be moved a quarter and a half on the dot with more reflex on that rv7000 mudufierler.

Use the Bohr Dot diagram to fix up your sounds and baddabing baddaboom, your good to go *woosh*

-SinEirder

StereoTactik responds:

OHHHH, it's the FOIL method! I was using the CERAN WRAP method before. Now I know what I was doing wrong. TXH!!!1

Really Cool

I decided I'd take listen to this track. Well, I was definitely surprised by this one. For some reason, it almost reminds me of some of AIRs work.

This really has a great composition. Melody and harmonies all over the place. Great pads in there too. Cool little solo in there too.

The bass could have been better. Needs more sub in it. Play around with an equalizer to get it more sub-y. Also your going to want to turn down the release on it a tad. The notes get a bit saturated when they change.

Finally my only big problem I think is wrong with this one is the percussion is way too soft. I could definitely see this with harder more realistic sounding percussion. Almost like a real recorded drumbeat.

Overall swell work my lad. Your getting much better and adding more dimensions to your music.

-SineRider

Buoy responds:

:D

Yay, SineRider approves

AIR? Who be that? You mean that guy we breathe and are surrounded by, that guy named O2 or wat-

Sure I coulda made the drums better, but I tried making all percussion in Subtractors in this one- just of fun. :P (also people complain about my drums being too hard in most of my songs)

Love it

This song is soo cool. I like the saxophone real cool sounding mixed with the piano.

The drums were great as usual. I like the short guitar parts too.

I know you want some crtisizm, but to be completely honest, If I were a label dude (Don't know what there called) I would totally sign you right there.

...mweh.
cheers bro, i still need some mastering whores to come and tell me what i'm doing wrong with the mix tho.

Waste of Time?

I think not. I love this song. Its so calm and relaxing. Sort of like The Postal Service mixed with Aphex Twin.

Nice little telephone sound in the beginning. I liked the drumbeat throughout it too. Some nice effects layered over it.

The melody and synths are great. Great diverse melody and progression.

This and you deserve more exposure :\

Thanks for your vote, SineRider! You voted 5 for Tome89 - Telephone Network, raising its score from 0.00 to 5.00.

Well the point is I only submit scraps and betas and everything that doesn't exceed 4 minutes to NG.

Must say I like reviews. And reviewers.
Thanks SR!

Erhhmm... I mean StereoTactik. Haha what happened to Watkins?

Thought this deserved more, and at least one "REAL" review. *cough* *cough*...dagrahamcracka...*cough*

Well the 3 months of work sure has improved this song very much. To be completely honest, I'm not sure I could work 3 months on one song :P

I heard a lot of the earlier versions of this so I know how much its progressed from the beginning to the different parts.

I liked the intro, sort of surprising compared to the rest of the song. Then it goes into the real song, that I've heard a lot already.

I liked the bass sound too. Quick and cool bassline too.

The drums obviously took some time to make. They are really... reaaallly diverse. Match up with the quick bassline great. Good use of them samples.

Some nice breakdowns in there too. Cool use of the piano, surprised me.

Great work on this song man. A lot went into it and it shows. Good to have you uploading again too :D

StereoTactik responds:

Shitty Review.... OF DEATH

Are those recorded drums or are they programmed? IF there programed, then wow they sound real as fuck.

Great guitar-work too. Cool drudging riff in there. Some nice pinch harmonics too. Solos are nice too.

Good job mastering it too, not much peaking or clipping.

Thanks for your vote, SineRider! You voted 5 for Drums Of DEATH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, keeping its score at 5.00.

-SineRider

Bad-Man-Incorporated responds:

Best question EVER! But sadly, these were programmed. I would love to have a "real" drummer. haha. I actually didn't really mix or master much. This was the first drum track I made, so This was more goofin around with some old riffs. In the final mix, I just dropped it .5 decibals, to get it out of the CLIP zone! haha. Thanks for the cool review, and vote.\m/
