SineRider's News

Posted by SineRider - March 8th, 2012

I thought I'd post some tunes I've been listening to recently. I have really gotten into a folk-y acoustic phase right now. Started by re-listening to my Elliot Smith collection. I found I enjoyed it even more now. Something really organic and relaxing about this kind of stuff. Although I have to say I'm pretty picky as to what I'll listen to.

Elliot Smith - Clementine
Overlooked this tune a few years ago, but now I can't get enough of it

Papa M - Roses in the Snow
David Pajo can do no wrong. I loved his guitar work in Slint, Tortoise, and even more in his other project Aerial M. Papa M is pretty eclectic as well, but I really like the tunes like this Roses in the Snow

Nick Drake - Parasite
Older tune, you can definitely hear Nick Drake's influence in a lot of artists after him. Trying to learn this one, but the finger-picking is giving me grief D:

The Pine - Letters
Probably the least Folk influenced tune here, but still awesome in it's own right. Super underrated band

I'll probably do another one of these but with a different style each time

Hey Newgrounds,
Check out my little youtube ambient experiment thing. I got the idea a few days ago after remembering In Bb and thought I'd give it a shot. It's basically a 'process piece'.

You can start each video at any point and they will all sound nicely together. They are all set to loop to so you have an endless stream of music if you so please. It's relaxing stuff, so I'd suggest laying back and or falling asleep to it.

Directions: Open up the four drone videos, let them buffer, then start them wherever you want and let them play out. The annotations are set so they will repeat over and over.

Tell me how it sounds and what you think :)

I also have a new ambient album coming out on BFW Recordings March 20th

Merry Christmas,

Here is my plug for my short chiptune ep thing I made last week. I posted this up on my other account, but I figure I should put a post on my main account c:

Check it out

Short Thing is a short chiptune EP of covers. I had the idea of remaking old jazz tunes after listening to "Kind Of Bloop" and wanted to try my hand at it. I got the idea to add vocals ran through bitspeek to make it more interesting. I used Famitracker for all the sounds, and arranged everything in Ableton Live 8

Tracklist:
Darn That Dream
I Don't Want To Set The World On Fire
I'll Be Around
Christmas Time Is Here

P.S.
What did you get for the holidays? I got a new pair of sneakers and skyrim

Merry Christmas, here is some chiptunes I made

Just released a short free album on my bandcamp today. Something I've been working on the last few months on and off. I took influence from the future-garage genre and rhythm influence from Steve Reich

Give it a listen, or download it in any format you could want.

Transiting is a different direction in musical style. It is a six track short album inspired by electronic "Future-Garage", ambient music, and Steve Reich like syncopation. The tracks are minimal at times, with off-beat percussion, pulsing sub bass, and soft low-passed pads

Hey there,

Just making an update to plug my new short ambient album, Sketches On Sound. I had a few long tracks in the works, which I decided to round up and make a release for my bandcamp page. Give it a listen if you are into Ambient, minimal, and hypnotic music.

Sketches On Sound is a series of short to long tracks all conceived with a similar mindset. While many are different in timbre and style, they are drawn-out, simple, and hypnotic.

I'm releasing as a name your own price, but feel free to enter zero if you want ;)

I'll have a sample up on my newgrounds audio page soon. The uploader/mp3 file is giving me trouble

Hey do you like pretty minimal ambient music? Then you should check out my new bandcamp release.

It's a four track short album. Each track explores a different texture and mood, but expands on the tracks before it in a different way. If you enjoy Steve Roach, Tim Hecker, Aphex Twin, or Brian Eno, give it a listen or download it for free.

Tracklist:
1. 3am
2. New Light
3. 4am
4. I Miss You

In other news, I've been working on a few projects. One is a collaboration with Mich for his forthcoming ambient release. The song is coming along nicely, and I can't wait to hear the album as a whole. Check out his page for more info.

Hey guys.

My newest ambient album was released today over on BFW recordings. Check it out

The fifth release on BFW from SineRider.
As those of you who have been lucky enough to hear SineRider's music before, a new release is always welcome.
In the past, he has delivered some sublime music somewhwere on the spectrum between ambient and post rock. 'Ambivert', as the name suggests, is firmly rooted in the ambient side of things. Half an hour of chilled loveliness.

Total running time: 32:26
1. Light Thinker
2. Dream Sequence
3. Sleepless
4. More or Less
5. Kalt
